Unlocking Creative Potential
It's no secret by now that we believe in starting a regular meditation practice here at My So-Called Cosmic Life. We're obsessed. It trains your mind and helps to calm your emotions in times of stress. A big part of this is becoming more self aware. Not only is this a benefit for others around you, but you will approach challenges differently, and often times have more creative solutions to those challenges.
You need creativity to manifest, articulate and effectively sell your ideas daily whether it's personal or work related.
More often than not, we are doing some form creative problem solving. You may not consider yourself "a creative person", but think about it – you need creativity to manifest, articulate and effectively sell your ideas daily whether it's personal or work related. The next time you find yourself stuck on a creative problem, take some time out to be alone with your thoughts. The quiet will allow stress to subside and your mind will open up to new solutions. Artists and writers have done this for ages when they needed to really delve into a project. Since meditation is typically done alone, it's the perfect time to get those creative juices flowing! Here are a few tips:
Switch it up
If you usually practice guided meditation, try silent meditation on your own, and see how that works for you. Sometimes it's just about switching up your routine slightly to gain a fresh perspective.
Don't overthink it. Overthinking can paralyze or kill your creativity. Don't let fearful thoughts hold you back. Keep an open, positive mind.
Try not to focus on the results
Embrace free flowing thought. Something I like to remind myself of comes from the Chopra Center: You plant the seeds, but let the universe work out the details. The idea is already sprouting, trust that it will grow.
