Lead with Love
This past week I have been on edge. I am not sure if I am coming across more assholes, or just more aware of them. Someone tailgating me, someone cutting me in line, even my kids are possessed. I have tried to be practice mindfulness, working on my breathing and releasing stress. My patience is running out. In these high stress moments, I try to remind myself that we do not know what other people are going through. Trust me, I am aware that some people are just not nice, but even then, I believe that something in their past formed who they are today.
If each of us lead our lives with this in mind, we would be able to put out a little bit more love into the world.
Everyone has a bad day, but many of us are lucky enough to have a good life, so let’s be mindful of that. Stay present in the moment and ask yourself if there is something that you can do to make the other person have a better day. Tailgating is a tough one, but if possible just move aside. Maybe the person behind you has an emergency, and needs to get to their destination pronto, or maybe they are just so tightly wound that they are anxious to get ahead. Either way, we can acknowledge that it isn’t easy being them so we can all have some compassion.
I realize that this is all easier said than done. We all deserve to have our moments, or our days that we stew in our own misery, even if it revolves around Stranger Things not coming out with the new season until October.
